Volunteering Description

Volunteering in Germany involves engaging with children and adolescents who need educational support. At Elisabethheim, various daily groups, residential groups, and agricultural and therapeutic groups provide a nurturing environment for children and teenagers from challenging backgrounds. As a volunteer, you will have numerous opportunities to take initiative and start your own projects.


Responsibilities

  • Educational Support: Assist in tutoring, homework help, and study sessions.
  • Recreational Activities: Organize and participate in leisure activities for children and teenagers.
  • Emotional Support: Provide emotional guidance and support to help them overcome challenges and develop essential life skills.

Training During Volunteering

Volunteers will receive at least one German language course, as well as an online language course via the OLS system. Participants will also have the opportunity to join team meetings at Elisabethheim and have regular meetings with their mentors. Additionally, seminars and workshops organized by the German National Agency and the coordinating organization VIA e.V. provide ample space for learning and engagement. At the end of the volunteering period, volunteers will receive a Youthpass certificate.

  • Motivation: Your personal motivation is the most crucial selection criterion.
  • Interest in Working with Youth: A genuine interest in working with children and teenagers.
  • Driving License: An international driving license and driving experience.
  • Language Skills: German language skills are appreciated but not mandatory.
  • Preferred Experience: Initial experience in the education field is desirable.
